Contacts

LevanteraLevantera
Co-Leader of the Vanguard Shield Division

Levantera and her twin sister Borea lead the Shield, the division of Vanguard tasked with protecting the city and its people from the Rikti. The two sisters are both extremely capable fighters, and are the chosen Champions of the Order of the Four Winds. However, the sisters rarely see eye-to-eye with each other, and often argue over the best methods to accompish their goals. While Levantera likes to cultivate a more cultured appearance than her sister, she's also the more offensively-minded of the two. She believes that the best kind of counter-attack is a pre-emptive one. After all, if your enemies are all dead, then they can't hurt your friends.

BoreaBorea
Co-Leader of the Vanguard Shield Division

Borea and her twin sister Levantera together lead the Shield, the division of Vanguard tasked with protecting the city and its people from the Rikti. The two sisters are both extremely capable fighters, and are the chosen Champions of the Order of the Four Winds. However, the sisters rarely see eye-to-eye with each other, and often argue over the best methods to accomplish their goals. Borea tends to believe in a protective strategy, concentrating on defending the city and its citizens over aggressive pre-emptive attacks. After all, if your enemy has destroyed what you were protecting, then any victory is meaningless.

Serpent DrummerSerpent Drummer
Leader of the Vanguard Gauntlet

The enigmatic man called Serpent Drummer is the head of the Vanguard's Gauntlet division. The Gauntlet was originally Vanguard's offensive division, but changing events have seen it shift those responsibilities to the Shield Division, while the Gauntlet concentrates on coordinating Vanguard's forces with the recent influx of super-powered volunteers. Even in the middle of such great changes, Serpent Drummer remains serene.

GaussianGaussian
Vanguard Tactician

Gaussian is Vanguard's main tactician, coordinating intelligence efforts across Divisions to form a united front against the Rikti. Many believe that his ability to keep vanguard organized is the only thing that's prevented the Rikti from overwhelming Vanguard's forces, but Gaussian prefers to downplay his role and instead credit the steadfast determination and fighting skill of the volunteer troops.

Dark WatcherDark Watcher
Mysterious Man in Black

Many rumors swirl around the Dark Watcher. Some claim that he's a federal agent who learned too much and went renegade. Others say he's an immortal being who walks the treacherous path between worlds under his own power. Still others say that he is not a human being at all. Whatever the truth, he has appeared time and again to help the heroes of Earth fend off enemies ranging from the Rikti to the Rularuu. Normally, he disappears after his job is done, but for reasons unknown he has stayed with Vanguard since the group's inception, acting as Lady Grey's loyal advisor.

The Lady GreyThe Lady Grey
Leader of the Vanguard

Ever composed, ever mysterious, the powerful and otherworldly Lady Grey is rumored to be older than Statesman, and one of the most powerful meta-humans on the planet. She was instrumental in the founding of Vanguard, and runs the organization expertly. She takes a great interest in Vanguard's day-to-day operations, and knows all of her troops by name.

Rikti Ship Raid

The first stage of the raid is to defeat the 18 Rikti Pylons scattered around the mothership, causing it to drop it's shield. Once the shield is down the battle moves atop the Rikti ship itself. The primary goal is to plant bombs in the ship's ventilation system, drawing out the Rikti Master At Arms; U'Kon Gr'ai. Once bombs have been placed the battle moves to the central area of the ship where hundreds of Rikti teleport into the battle. Provided the bombs were placed the battle will draw to a conclusion with the appearance of U'Kon Gr'ai.

The raid ends when the Rikti shields come back up, causing all players to be teleported off the surface of the ship. This happens after a set period of time, or shortly after U'Kon Gr'ai is defeated if you successfully managed to plant enough bombs to draw him to the battle.
